Here is one more fractalius of some winter sugar maples at dusk. This time it is a group of trees in another nearby farm field.

This is so cool, Andrew! I really like the effect you achieved with fractalius. The texture/color in the sky is beautiful. :S3:
Andrew, You really put together a nice grouping of fract trees. Your blog post is wonderful. I like the colors and the branch details.
Thanks Denise and Steve for the comments, These are a lot of fun to play around with. I have been trying to shoot some fresh ones, but we have been having too much cloud cover lately.
Andrew, I think this is my favorite of the series. I love the slope and the arches in the tree branches.
And the colors are heavenly.:S3:
Those colors are outrageously good! Has an real nice feel. You are really perfecting your use of this effect. Well done.
Andrew,
Like Cheryl, this is my most favorite image out of the series so far. Love the gradations of color in the sky. Beautifully done.
Richard
I think this is my favorite of the series too. :S3: You doing an excellent job with the fractalius filter! I love the dusk colors of this one.
Andrew, this is the best yet in your series IMO. First of all, the base photo and the clump of trees against a simple snow and sky FG and BG is excellent. Then just the right amount of fract treatment. Love the sky and snow colors. I think this might look really good in a simple frame. Superb!
Much thanks folks for all the kind words. I appreciate them very much. This is my favorite so far also.
Hey Andrew, you're getting good at this and I also think this is your best so far! Those colors are awesome! :5
That can go on my wall. My favorite color scheme in all of nature. May we see the original?
Beautiful work Andrew - the colors are just wonderful. The stark look of the fract trees against that background makes this a strong composition and truly artistic. Nicely done!
Thanks Ken, Arthur and Kerry appreciate the comments very much.
Arthur, here is the original image. I did crop a smidge off the fract version due to funny inward-pointing lines around the edges of the sky. I personally prefer the fract version - I think it has more interest.

Andrew, it's a beautiful capture and you could do a lot with it. I do love the fract version too. I'm wondering what it might look like if you were to mask the effect in the sky or even take the blur tool to it to have a smooth sky.
Thanks Andrew. I like the original but I gotta admit that I like the Fract better. It is very special.
Thanks again Arthur and Kerry.
