This is a blur I took back in July of a large patch of black-eyed susans and some white flowers. I decided to crop it in a long vertical format, and I added an orton effect and a slight vignette. Any comments and suggestions would be most appreciated!

Hi Christopher, a lovely blur and scene to look at after the bitterly cold winter day we have been having here today. Love it!

Christopher, this is beautiful. I wish you'd post more blurs - they are really gorgeous. I like the vertical crop and the colors are really nice. I could see cropping from the bottom to eliminate the first row of flowers - they're not as clumped together (or clone a few patches in:))

Christopher, I like Cheryl's crop suggestion. Nice flow to this but the springtime look is off the charts! Great looking image!

Christopher, this is really a nice blur and I love the spring colors. As far as the crop, I am (again) going to suggest something different - a crop from the top to eliminate the trees. Since you are going for an abstract look, I think it makes sense to limit the subject to the flowers and grass. The trees give the image more of a realistic look, in my opinion. Either way it is a very nicely done image!

A touch of spring on a cold winter day! This image says spring loud and clear. Just the right amount of blur. I like the composition as is. Or, a crop from the top as suggested by Kerry would give it a different look.
Very nicely done.

Thanks very much, everyone, for your comments! I appreciate it.
Cheryl, I think a crop from the bottom might be just the thing. Thanks for the suggestion! Kerry, I wanted a more realistic look which is why I kept the trees, but if I wanted a pure abstract I would most definitely crop them out as you suggested.

It makes me want to take a deep breath, Christopher! I also thought a crop from the bottom would even out the proportions a bit more. The blur is fantastic and the slight orton effect really takes it over the top. I could see Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz falling asleep in this field of flowers... :icon11:

Very nice soft, spring feel, and good job on the blur and effects. Agree with cropping bottom a bit.
