I went to a local pond yesterday and the Wood storks were lined up along the bank with their reflections. I did several images as a blur (f/18, 1/2 sec., ISO 100) with the intention of using one for an abstract. I used Sumi-E filter for a ghostly look, then Difference Clouds with a normal blend at 100% to get a different color. Then I cut it in half, flipped one half horizontally and pasted onto a bigger canvas so I could have a symmetrical image.
Thanks for looking. Comments and suggestions appreciated:)

Cheryl, The colors and the creative filtering make this special. I think you did a nice job w/ the crop. It reminds me of one of those Aztec rugs at the top-neat!

This is a beautiful image, Cheryl, and thanks for the step-by-step description of how you did it. Must try it myself. But I love the earth colors, symmetrical pattern and final result. Outstanding!

It reminds me of the hierogyphics on the inside wall of a cave. The colors are beautiful and intense and the birds have just enough detail that I can tell exactly what they are while still retaining that blur/abstract look. Nicely done, Cheryl!

Hi Cheryl, love the arrangement of the birds and the "Aztec" patterns at the top as Denise mentions. Very nicely done!
