American Avocet
D90 70-200VR+2X@400 1/4000 f/8.0 ISO800 -1EV handheld
This morning I watched as five avocets foraged for food. This one found a pretty big invertebrate (I think), which it seemed to play with for quite a while. I had not seen an avocet come up with one that large before. The image is cropped, NR run on the water, and two tiny splashes of water cloned out.

Great job catching the action and exposure looks good!
I'd like to see the bird a bit higher in the frame and a lower shooting angle.

Wendall, I think a pano crop from top might be nice here. Cool capture with the food morsel.

Good exposure and I love the open bill and food morsel. A pan crop as suggested by Robert would bring focus on the bird and it`s reflection as well as make the slightly higher angle less obvious.

Lovely action captured Wendell and good exposure in bright light conditions. Love the ripples spreading out from the action and the two around the lower bill.
