Long-billed Curlew, Goose Island State Park, near Rockport, TX, early December 2010, overcast morning. PP with Topaz Clean, two passes followed by InFocus treatment to enhance head detail. I was trying to achieve a 3D look with very sharp bird but blurred FG and BG.

LIke the sharp details in the bird. Maybe just take a little off the bottom.

Hi Keith,
The effect is very striking and works very well for the subject in my opinion. I like the composition as it is and the only change I would suggest would be to clone out the dark outline around the legs (actually the back of the first leg at the left and the front and back of the leg at the right). The outlines don't bother me around the rocks though seem out of place around the bird. Beautiful.

Great idea and executed well! The bird's beak and face are nice and sharp as well as some of the feather detail which I like.

Keith, I really like the effect of the filters. I esp. like the bit of water under the curlew. I agree w/ Dan and would take a very small slice off the bottom. Soft colors and high-key look are great!:)

Keith, my initial reaction was wishing for a crop from the bottom but the more I look at it and see all of the colors in the rocks I think I like it just the way it is. The Clean effect worked really well with this image:)

Very cool effect with the filters. Love it! I agree with taking a smidge off the bottom too.
