Completely the opposite of the last water image I posted, here is the one I call "Both Sides Now" because it is a look at clouds bouncing off the surface of the water. (If you're over 40 and you remember Judy Collins then you'll understand the name...right?!)
For a peak at the rest of the water images from 2009 and 2010, check out my BPN Photo Album "On the Surface" featuring all my favorites from the past two years.
Processed with my normal workflow except I did use noise reduction instead of surface blur on this one because I wanted a smooth final image. No sharpening except when downsizing the image for the web.

This is beautiful, Julie. Soft smooth colors and the patterns are just superb. Great title - I do remember Both Sides Now; I think I still like the original recording.

Nice soft pale color blue. I tried flipping it vertically and liked the way it looked. It's a soothing image. Nicely done.:)

I like the image, the soft light and the blues. And I love the song and Judy Collins. I found and listened to many live versions on U-tube but my fave was from the original recording here. Cried a bit from that one.
Amazing was a recent live version where a much older white-haired Judy Collins sang the song a capello at a Thomas Hoving Memorial at the Metropolitan Museum of Art at the 2:16 mark here.
She is alive today at age 71. What can I say but "Send in the Clowns." ? :)

Julie, well, I am only 20, but I do get what you are trying to show... and I love this song!
I love the flowing lines in this one, and how the blue gradually fades away towards the top. Thanks a lot for sharing!

Really like the soft color and the texture of the water.
