I thought this ice was interesting. Shot yesterday at Humber Bay Park in Toronto on Lake Ontario. Waited until floating sections of ice were not merging with the main section of ice. Thought it looked a little better as B&W.
Great minds think alike...I've been shooting the same kind of images the past two weeks. Amazing the patterns you can find before the ponds and lakes totally freeze.
Lovely pattern here and I think you came very close to a perfect comp - I'd take just a slice off the top so that leading line was closer to the top of the frame. There's also a small whiter area near the upper left corner (right next to the leading edge of the ice) that you might clone or tone down so the eye doesn't get stuck there.
This looks like a field of frozen lily pads, Andrew! Very nicely seen and executed!

Andrew, Another vote for a slice off the top! I like the way the curved lines keep your eye inside the frame. :)

Very creative image of ice floes, Andrew! I especially like the overall grainy feel of this image; it works well with the overall COMP. I agree that trimming some off the top would improve it. TFS!

I like the quiet, minimalism comp, there's a bit of an optical illusion between ice and water close up or an aerial land image from above. Agee about crop. Nice.
