I took this image of two Brant at Barnegat Light, NJ. I wish they both turned a bit more towards me but I did like the pale high key look to the image and decided to do an Orton effect and Snow effect. I used Dave Seerams snow action and I created the Orton effect in Photoshop. Since I was going for a silhouette type image I darkened up the faces a bit so the eyes were not at all visible. Happy New Year to all.:)

Thanks guys, Re-looking at the image I might take a sliver off the top to eliminate the dark area.
Paul, Happy New Year to you and thanks for all your help proofing my guides etc...:)

Denise, I like the look of this. It reminds me of an illustration in a children's book (which is a good thing:))

This is a lovely image. I really like the composition and the brown colors. The Orton effect is perfect for the image and the snow really adds to the wintery feel.

Beautiful composition and very nice effect, Denise. The dark upper part of the geese makes it mysterious. Nice tones... Nicely done.

I like the tones in this Denise, together with the sea rolling in. The falling snow effect puts this over the top.
