I had been working on this water lily image during Asian week and never came up with anything I liked so I started throwing the kitchen sink at it:) I used Nik>Saturation Stylizer and masked the lily back in, then Fractalius Impressionist I using Difference blending mode, then Topaz Color Boost, then Blue Photo filter, Carving effect, and finally Topaz Crisp edge. And a neon frame. And a partridge in a pear tree:p
Thanks for looking.

Nice effect! You certainly do get the most out of Photoshop with your techniques! I've never had any success with difference mode other than one image.

Wonder if Van Gogh also painted some water lilies besides those sunflowers... this seems exactly how he would have done it! Very beautiful, the flower seems almost luminous.
Thanks for sharing, and a Very Happy New Year!

Cheryl, sometimes throwing the kitchen sink is the way to go! :D Love the cool colors and composition. Has a very impressionistic feel. Well done!

This to me feels like psychedelic art with strong colors and edges. This can hang on a wall. Very impressive, Cheryl.

It's beautiful, Cheryl. That kitchen sink can be an artist's best friend! I love the blues and greens in this one and it does feel a bit like a watercolor painting. I think it's a bit long on the right side in relation to the size of the flower. I'd trim to the end of the lily pad and let that partial leaf on the right exit the party if this were mine.

Cheryl, I think the long comp. works well for an Asian look. The colors and the flower are very nice. It does have an impressionistic look to it. I think the subtle glow is a nice touch.:)

Thanks, everyone. I appreciate your comments. I have the same image that is bronze and black and white that I was going to use also but ran out of time. I cropped it long because I was going to use it during Asian week. I'll try some different ones now. I hope everyone had a happy new year's day:)

Cheryl, I love the bold colors and abstract background in this. It all flows beautifully together.
