I used a string of holiday lights along with a sheet of black plexiglass. I captured lots of different patterns and light trails. I took this image into Photoshop and applied polar coordinates to it. I posted a couple of more examples on my blog if you'd like to check them out.

Nicely done, Denise! Can we see the original before the polar coordinates to see what you started with? Was it just a straight line of lights or did you jumble them up a bit?
Love the almost liquid motion of this...and the slick colors are very nice. I also like the almost 3D appearance of the polar filter - very cool!

Thanks everyone for your kind words, they were fun to create. I will be experimenting more with the lights as the season goes on.:) Below is the image I started with. I panned slowly in one direction, handheld at a slow shutter speed.
