I like big skies with big color. The RAW has more blue as well as the magenta; I decided to bring out the magenta since the distant mountains were bathed in the magenta at capture.

There is always that one moment when the sky pops both at sunrise and sunset.

If it is too saturated for you, I can understand that; Jackie and I like hot colors.

Greetings from Arches NP! Andy Warhol would be proud!!! I agree with Jackie that it has gone to the pop art side....so I will comment on that aspect and copy it to OOTB. I think you could bring up the clouds in the UR to balance the image a bit as well as some of the brush under the silhouette area. As for the color......that is subjective but not a huge fan of it myself personally. Interesting take on this so hope the folks in OOTB can offer you a few more suggestions!

Jay, This is beautiful. I think it has a great look to it and I can see why it could go either way. I might open up the bush on the left a little if it were mine. A piece of art for sure-lovely!:)

When you say open up the brush on the LHS, I assume you are suggesting that the black silhouette should be lightened and allow the detail, whatever is there, to come through.

Definitely OOTB. Great colors. Agree with Denise on lightening up the bush on the left. I'd love to see a version with the magenta toned down also.

Thanks Andy, I am going to do both versions to attempt to meet all of the suggestions. :)

Excellent suggestions given, Jay so I'll just add that the magentas are fabulous! Love the way the FG slopes from side to side.

I think it is awesome - very surreal, otherworldly.

Fortunately, I am starting to learn about smart objects so I was able to open the tiff image and rework Viveza to open up the bush and the sky. There is simply a lot of magenta all over the image because with the bush I simply lightened it and out came the color. I then duplicated and flattened and cloned out the central bush to create the mountain line all the way across. There appears to be some type of artifact - lines in the clouds - what might cause that? What do you think?

Jay, I'm not sure what happened in the clouds-but it does look pixelized. I think that the red showing in the bush is distracting. I would leave the original image as it seems more natural to me.
