This was taken last spring here in central Minnesota. I spend a fair amount of time in June trying to capture these moments and am happy when it all works out.

Nice image and framing. The only thing I found helpful when shooting loons is to make sure the sun is behind you to illuminate their eyes. If you are unable to get the sun to illuminate the eyes it might be beneficial to try a flash/better beamer combination. Best of luck. I know how tough it is to get good images of these beautiful birds.

Excellent Mike I like the composition The only thing I can add is I wish the grass did not appear to be growing out of the beak !!! Real nice feel !!!

Just like to say I think image is delightful.
Grass BG to me is fairly unobtrusive.
