Couldn't think of what else to call this...to me it looks like lightning striking across the surface of the water - only in reverse! There was so many reflections on the lake this night I couldn't get over it...they seemed to go on forever.
I did use a graduated filter from Nik Color Efex to add a touch more blue to the LLC area; everything else was normal processing of curves, surface blur, & sharpening.

Love it Jules! The color is wonderful. The design in the water is terrific. I think you are right it does look like lightning.:)

Love it too. A scroll crop from the bottom improves it quite a bit. Not sure why I am so in love with 3X2 lately.... Both the colors and the ripple pattern are loverly.

Arthur, I see what you're saying now...thank you. My eyes kept following the converging lines to the LRC and that kept me from chopping any higher but I see I can do that now and still not lose that beautiful corner. I'll definitely make the adjustment.

YAW. About 2/3 of the way from the frame edge to the edge of the prominent dark swirls in the llc would seem about perfect :)

Fascinating pattern! I just love all of these water images you are posting. It is amazing to me to see what I would probably have walked right past without ever having seen. This one reminds me of the pattern seen when a low water area dries up and the ground cracks.
