Jam,
What a cracking inage, how did you get this close?
If I was to really picky a little more space below the talons would be nice.
Hi Jan, this is an excellent martial pic for me. I like the fact that you got the catchlight in the eye, good exposure, good texture and detail on the wings and feet. Not sure about the crop, I would guess from the aspect ratio that it isnt full frame. Would agree with Ken about more space under talons if you have it.
Well done on portraying something of the latent power and majesty that this bird possesses..
Thanks for sharing

One of my favourate eagles Jan, and well done on a great open sighting. Good feather detail, and I agree a little tight LLC.
Hi Jan,
I've never seen a martial eagle before.....fierce looking.....very deep set eyes and a beautiful breast pattern. Nice shot you've made here with the awesome 300/2.8. I'm betting you didn't have any room left on bottom so that is a moot point. Great shot.

A very nice bird and a majestic pose.
Did you run NR here. I perceive the feathers, especially around the neck, as a little smooth.
There is a small artifact (physical or pp) on the mid back region of the bird.
I look forward to seeing more.
Very impressive bird and image. Love the stare and pose. May be a bit steep but not a lot that can be done there!
Fierce looking! Love the deep set eye. Light was harsh, but dealt with nicely. I agree it is tight at bottom - flipping the camera as a vertical would have been enough (assuming you had time...I know raptors tend to take off at any presence of people!).
Amazing bird that is a privilege to see and to photograph. Big congratulations for getting this close and making this very nice image. Love the pose and detail and the eye is stunning. I would also go with a little more space in the bottom.

light well handled Jan - super sharp! I still need a decent shot of this impressive raptor. well exposed too!
Awesome bird and pose captured Jan Sweet Shot!
Impressive pose and lighting here Jan, a little more room for the perch (as stated) would benefit.

Lovely specimen Jan! Space below talons mentioned.
