I can see why this would be a favorite species of yours! Nice perch, BG, and prey item. Harsh light it seems, but you did best you could with that - the high light angle did create a shadow underneath the bird though...

Well exposed, and you have brought out the colours very well. Good to see the catch, and that BG is simply stunning.

Manos, I loved the light here. Nice and warm. BG could not have been better. And prey always a bonus. Bird is spectacular to say the least. If mine, I'd have a tad more room on three sides.

Beautiful bird and bg.
Would add more below and to the left (and may be above, as well).
The food adds a lot to this image.

Did you run any NR on the bg, or is the 40D really this clean. I hate the noise in my 50D.

Technically very well done! If possible I would have tried to get to a slightly different angle to avoid the "flat" perspective from the side. On the other hand: This way everything is in focus and colours are visible.
