Nice light and pose from the bird. A decent perch and the beak doesn't really bug me. However the background is distracting and it could use a little more room in front. Next time, try finding a more distant and less contrasty BG.
Keep them coming!
Love the pose and the view of the undertail coverts and the excellent remarks by the young man ahead of me. Was this any type of set-up?
Like the perch, love the pose, great light. Might want to tone down the bright spots in the background. TFS
Gary.
Thank you. I spent about 10 minutes on the deck last night and got a few captures with various bg's but I like this pose the most out of all of them.
A link (not sure I can post a second image in this topic) to another capture with a more distant bg.

Arthur..as far as set-up....I guess you can call it one. This is a pile of driftwood I've collected over the years and fallen tree limbs from my yard that I just piled up in part of a garden surrounding my deck. The ground feeders use the woodpile to forage for insects and use it as shelter when the occasional Hawk flies through. No food is placed in the woodpile but there is a feeder about 20' from it.
I like the pose, sharpness and detail. I agree that a distant BG would have made this image even better. Well done Duane!
The cleaning of bill is subjective, I would most likely leave as is. Love the light and pose. I gather this is a small species? Well done mate, :)
