Hanging around hoping for an eagle fly-by can get tedious, so I find myself practicing on Corms and Canada Geese. This guy was catching the setting sun nicely the other evening.
Tack sharp Bill, and I like the swimming posture. I really like the smooth water outside the ripples. Well captured.

Terrific light and details. Loved the water texture a lot too. And the ripples add a lot. TFS Bill.

Very nice details and image. It seems a bit tight on the bottom but I really like this one. Something different!

Beautiful light, I agree with Denise about more space at the bottom.
I have never seen this species, is the eye really that blue?

Thank you all for the kind and helpful comments. Denise: I wanted to keep it tight on the bottom to emphasize the neck, but agree that just a little more space on the bottom would have been good if I had it. This is almost SOC except for slight crop off top and left, and removal of a few specs in the water. (I have another frame with more room beneath, but his head is turned in that one so it doesn't catch the light as well.) Ken: Yes, their eyes are almost emerald-colored.

Hey Bill
Agree about the tight LRC. But the light, pose and detail are fabulous. In all a wonderful image. :)
