Glenn, the bird is gorgeous with a beautiful range of rustic colors, perfectly captured on an interesting perch. The only (minor) criticism I would make is a suggestion that you consider cloning out the three slender branches at the bottom of the frame (two on the left, one on the right).

Beautiful bird with a very nice complimentary bg...I like the ruffled feathers, the ha and the open beak. Nicely done.
Excellent shot, I like the pose and the composition, I'm happy with the dock plant as it is, perhaps the bird is just a little central? I get the impression you have plenty of detail in the darke plumage, I suspect a little S/H would bring out a little more.
