Simply Autumn

A late autumn afternoon at a local canyon. Topaz Simplify, some vibrance, and USM. :cool:

Beautiful colours and I like the way the filter has given an almost autumn leaf shape to all the different colours in the image. At least that is how I see it. :)

I'm not a big "filter" guy, but you made some inroads with this image.
Of course it was a strong image before you started the post processing.

First and foremost is a winning composition. Followed closely by beautiful, complementary colors.
The texture you chose put this over the top!!

Kerry, I love the composition too. A winding road and autumn colors are always a good match. Topaz really makes leaves sing in my opinion and I can never get enough of that look. Lovely.:)

I love the scene, colors and effect but when I looked at it I thought it needed a CW rotation, not sure why. So I downloaded it to CS4 and experimented to see, why my eye thought it was off. Its the shadow, sunlight in center of image on roadway...its funny how we all see different things.

Simply beautiful. The strong sidelight here with the shadows across the road are magical. And the effect on the leaves is wondrous.
