The Nexus

Denise's Teton abstract inspired me to think OOTB. Against my suggestion, this one is completely lacking context. Last night we had thunderstorms roll through North Texas and I wanted to get some shots.

One Tornado producing cell was about 10 miles from the house. There was a lot of lightning, and hail at the house, but the backlit cloud was beautiful. I wanted to stay under the porch of the house, making wide angle shots difficult.

I got the 800 out and started shooting the silver lining of the cloud. This is the silver outline, near the sun, which is in the TR of the image. I increased the WB temp, and ran it through Fractalius. I wish this was a 16 bit color app, so the gradient was smoother. Oh yea, and make it run on the Mac also. ;)

Kind of reminds me of the "Nexus Wave" on the Star Trek movie. All suggestions, and comments welcome.

Powerful, balanced composition. The strong reds and dark LLC complement each other in this frac/abstract. Appreciate the back story(context) and glad the storm kept it's distance. :)

Patrick, The colors are stunning. I like the way the fractalius filter enhanced the look of the silver outline. Love the composition with the gradient BG. Very cool image! I am glad that my Teton image inspired you.:)

I like this a lot Patrick. Very strong compositional elements with the sun in one corner and darkness in the opposite one. The cloud edge running through the center is spectacular. Love it! :cool:
