I used Pixel Bender and Topaz Adjust on the original image then added the sky texture. I then used a layer mask over the bird to reveal it. Then I made levels and hue/sat adjustments. I flattened it and used a layer style pattern on it and Topaz Adjust on a duplicate layer to bring out a little more detail in the sky and lowered the opacity to 25% in multiply mode. I hope it looks like a bright moonlit night scene!

Very nice composition, Judy. This does give the sense of a moonlit scene. The effect on the bg and sky is awesome. Nice processing and thanks for sharing the steps.

This almost looks like it could be on the roof of the Sistene Chapel (had to look up how to spell it ;)). the colors, detail on the gull a very lovely image.

I really like the BG and the texture. The gulls pose with the fanned tail is nice. I would refine the edge just a bit on the top of the wing viewers left). As always beautiful work w/ the filtering.

Judy, it does look like a moonlit scene and like Paul, a mural painted on an old wall was the first thing that came to mind when I opened this. Nice job!

Judy,
Greetings. I like this one very much. The color, mood, composition... & particularly how the clouds look. I'm not sure (because it is pretty subtle) about the conjunction of the bg pattern with the beak, toe and left tip of the tail.
Beautiful work... good show!
Cheers,
-Michael-

Excellent work, Judy! I love the feel of bright moonlit nights, and you captured that look very well. Love the pose and the BG is just wonderful. Only thing I might change(and this is being real picky) would be to tone down the crack lines in the sky just a tad. Very well done! :)

Judy, this is nice. I like the treatment and gulls always seem to evoke a feeling of timelessness. I would agree with toning down the textures if you want to convey a sense of real sky, but the moonlit look works well as a painting as presented. Nice work.
