Route 80 blur

Have not posted here in a while but I do keep an eye on the cool stuff going on in this forum. On our way home from PA on Saturday with Susan C. and Roman K, we got little crazy with our cameras. We tried different SS's and lots of different camera motions along Route 80 in NJ. I really thought this one was cool. Canon EOS 7D with 24-105mm at 24mm, ISO 100,
f/6.3, SS 4 sec. Hand held out of the rear side window. I was moving the camera in a sine wave pattern, not really by accident but after experimenting with different patterns until I got one I liked. We were in the center lane and a few cars past us to add the reds. My explanation sounds a lot more scientific than it was! :confused:

Quite a nice graphic look to it, nice background colors and framing. It looks like the sine wave from a Jimi Hendrix's guitar solo....:D....blurs are addictive, and no rules...TFS

I've tried the same thing but never with anything close to your spectacular creation. Great vision, thinking, and execution.

Whoa dude! Flashback time... :D This is way cool and really reminds me of a visualizer for a certain 'Tunes-based music player. Super OOTB work! :cool::cool::cool:

I can't help but laugh.......I'm the only one who really knows how out of control the children were! I think it may have been the driver doing 80 on 80......before the chikdren got way out of control!!! They wanted me to pass Susans house and keep trying! They aren't kidding when they said you inspired them either.......they took more of these than waterfalls!
Turned out pretty cool Nick! To think that I'm the youngest of the group!!!

Thank you all for the compliments and Artie and Denise for the inspiration. It was Susan's idea and Roman, while driving, just kept adding more ideas to try. I just leaned into the back and grabbed my camera. I believe digital photography is in its infancy. The fact that we were able to look at the LCD for immediate feedback and make adjustments on the fly opens a whole new world for this artistic stuff. Those types of tweaks could have never been done with film. At one point we were trying to spell our names with the lights (didn't work but we will figure that one out), and at one point I had Roman try to keep up with a car to keep his red lights in the frame (may have been this one).. The ideas are endless!!!!! And no speeding or careless tickets...

Great looking blur Nick. Love the colors and the wavy lines.
