I took this image Sept. 22 at Noxubee Refuge. The story is that my friend Jane and I went down there to judge the Friends of NR photo contest, along with Mississipppi wildlife photographer Kermit Laird, and I only took the 100 - 400 lens because we didn't get to go early to take photos but in case I saw a bird or gator at the visitor center location I could grab a shot (which didn't happen). After the judging the sun was just going down and I took this shot at 100mm and this was all I could fit in so I tried to do some serious OOTB processing. I don't remember what all I did but I mainly used a couple of textures that gave the red and orange colors and the blocky texture.

Judy, I love it! The fiery colors and the distressed look are wonderful. I think you did a great job processing this. The light is nice. I might tone down the blocks a bit if it were mine but that is just a personal preference. Very nice work and I loved reading the short story:)

Thanks Denise. I really like the blocks showing so I'll leave them for now. :) I think I also used Topaz Adjust to bring out the contrast, details and color before adding the textures.

Hi Judy...I really like the image, the textures and colors...I have to admit the first thing I noticed were the blocks or maybe the one horizontal line created by them, but as you say you like them and its your image...TFS

Judy, I love the colors and the textures you used. From the thumbnail, the cloud looks like a hovering spaceship:)

Hi Judy, I got the spaceship vibe too! I really like the dark red/orange colors and that back-lit cloud is great. I like how you have just a bit of the tree line at the bottom. Nice!
