Hi;
Unusual for me to use full frame as at the moment I'm using 400 mm instead of 600 mm, trying to save up for a 2.0 TC which will give me 800 mm with my 2.8 200 mm ED, SWD. Anyway, hope you like this Woody.
Comments always appreciated.

A little different...but works for me...love the detail in the head, back looks a little funky..TFS
Hi Gus, agree with Paul; it is different. I do like the pose and the detail. The filtered light is challenging and wish for a little more focus on the head. I do like the concept of the transparent border. In this case the border takes away a bit of the focus from the woodpecker, IMHO. TFS.
Gus, Good comments already given above. I like the way you are getting creative with these bird images. You are doing it in a straight forward way w/o a lot of filtering and it's a nice change. I agree that the back has some kind of OOF leaf? over it. Or am I seeing things:confused::)
The first thing I noticed was the lovely abstract sky. Then my eye found the woodpecker. Just like real life :D! I like the pose of the woodpecker looking off into that expanse of sky. However for me the vegetation and the pale border are somewhat distracting.
Gus, very cool bird and I like the look-back pose. I am reading a yellow/green color cast to this one. I like the stroke border style you are using. Agree on the somewhat busy surroundings. Nice capture!
