Lazy days of summer - common loon juvi

This common loon juvi was taking it easy this early morning, just pushing himself along with occasional strokes of his big foot. He had his right leg pulled up a bit and was heeled over a little. The light was low and soft, and the water reflects that softness. Northern Michigan lake, taken from my little loon boat, "Looney Too"

Very sweet shot Randy, the colors are so complimentary to the bird. The low angle is great. There's some green on the bird along the edge of the water. Not sure what I am seeing there.
PS I love the name of your boat!

Like the eye contact and overall feel of this. Nice back propeller.

Connie, the green is apparently a reflection off the water. It is in the original, I didn't do any post work in that area. I was concerned that the bird was sick and not tending his feathers well, but it doesn't show up in other shots of him from the same day, and he was in fine form two days later when I saw him. Thanks for the comment on the boat name. My bigger boat is the "Loonatic", so I thought this one worked for the little boat.

Nice image Randy, and a perfect head turn for you! Personaly I would be inclined to remove that green reflecting on the loon's lower body. I bet you like our canadian dollar coins, eh!
