Good focus and layout! I think your whites are a bit blown in front of the wings. You might also consider leveling the shoreline.
Sharpness is perfect...whites are a bit bright...agree with Ian on this shot.
One of your best Wendell! Very sharp. I don't think it'll be difficult to pull back those whites a little. Agree with the above suggestions. You could probably have dropped the ISO to 640 or 400 and still maintained enough shutter speed to freeze the bird. Likewise, f/8 would probably have been sufficient. Although this BG looks nice at f/11, many don't look so good; the BG detail that comes with f/11 will often require work on the BG in post-processing
Yes Wendell, this is one of your best. As per the suggestions above, leveled the bank (and added some canvas bottom) and ran a 50% Linear Burn on the brightest whites (using Selective Color). All as detailed in Digital Basics.
ps: Should have gotten rid of the bright whites in the BKGR with a 50% Clone Stamp.
Way to go Wendell! I too think this is one of your best:cheers:. Fantastic details in the near wing. Artie's repost has done your image justice.
Thanks to all for looking . . . AND for your comments . . . I'm learning. Re-posts are always helpful in that regard, too.
Daniel, you early bird, what are you doing up at 2:32 in the morning?
