This is awesome, I love the perch and BG. My only thing is that the focus looks like it was on the rear leaves rather than the bird as the subject looks a bit soft. And I would take a touch more off the top. TFS
Excellent capture. I agree with Dumay's comment. If the bird was as sharp as hte leaves this would be a real killer!
beautiful perch,pose!
Beautiful shot. The perch makes this ;)
I agree, I think the focus was OK but I took several images and all were like this i.e. not perfectly sharp on the head, I think I needed a faster shutter speed, when they move these little guys move quickly!
This is more a focus issue rather than SS issue. It can be tough keeping the focus point on these guys' faces while they move around...I suspect this is what happened as this guy turned its head back. Were you in AI Servo? This helps alot when tracking birds or when they move their heads a bit. Anyhow, great perch and comp, love the BG too. The far foot gripping the perch is too cool! HA could have been better IMO.
Hi Dan yes I was on Servo - this is my default setting , I use it 99% of the time. Despite this you may be right because the head moved very (very) quickly and with the best will in the world it would have been difficult to maintain focus. Sometimes I use focus lock, this time I didn't because the head was all over the place for those very few seconds - I was looking for the cute pose and hoping one shot would have had a sharp head; I have another shot that is marginally better.
