Out and about with Doug and Kristin Brown and Keith Bauer. This heron seemed to be showing off a little. The light was leaning over to the harsh side. Comments!

Gary:
The pose here is really neat, with up turned head and raised foot. Perch is interesting as well.
I wish there was a bit more room to the left, easy to add if needed. I would also be tempted to do some work on the shadows and highlights to try and bring out a bit more detail.
If possible, a bit of fill flash might have evened out the exposure a bit.
Again, very neat pose.
Randy
Yes, a tiny bit contrasty but I love the pose and the perch. And especially the raised foot.
Hey, do you know what's up with the Stage Door Grill? I have been e-mailing and calling without success.
Is all good with the Animals and this years Bosque Open Windows Volunteer group?
Gary, I don't mind the light at all. I think you handled it really well, and the interplay of light and shadow really works here. Composition looks good too though I agree with Randy that a bit more space on the left would be nice. If this is a cropped version presented here than you should have some pixels to work with.
Cheers,

I don't mind the contrast. I might make the bg darker and then lighten the bird a tiny bit. This pose deserves to stand out.
Superb image! I loved the pose. The BG gets mix very well & makes the bird look like ghost coming from the darkness......
Hi Gary! A very Regal pose! Whatever the lighting description, it works for me!
