This was taken in early August. It is a set-up in the backyard. The BG is a OOF fence. All C&Cs are welcome and appreciated.

Jim, liked this a lot. Bird angle is excellent and the colors are popping very well. Lots of details in the yellow as well. Comp-wise, I think vertical will look better.
Jim, Beautiful colors and pose. I like the perch and I agree w/ Kaustubh regarding a vertical.
Love the colors, BG and HA. Nice and sharp. I would concur that a vertical would be a stronger comp. That or move the bird to the left if you stick with horizontal.
Nice bird, nice fence, nice berries, nice head angle. Ditto the above compositional suggestions.
Here is a vertical repost. I was debating going vertical or not when originally posting this image.
All things equal the way to go with this one was to have pointed the lens down a bit originally so as to capture more of the berries. (Are they sumac?)
Thanks everyone for the comments and suggestions. Artie I will have to wait until next year to get that chance. The finches are going to their winter colours now. The berries are sumac.
Jim, in your vertical I find a little space extra at top and little less in front. So a 8X10 aspect ratio might work better.
Great sharp detail and exposure. Love the pose and perch. I like the vertical but needs some more on the frond to look in too. Well done on this :)
I love well-done portrait shots like this one. I agree with the suggestions about going vertical. I find that in your vertical re-post the bird is a bit too far to the right.
