I am going to Gambia at the beginning of December 2010 for one week and I am wondering if it is a good idea to buy more flash cards or get one of these camera buddy 120Gb, i was wondering if anyone has any experience of them ot perhaps something similar. the point with this item it is £99 and for 120gb that is a lot cheaper than cards and i presume it has a little screen to view the images what I cannot fathom is does it let you see RAW files (I bet my shirt you can see jpegs) and does it let you delete any. Any replies would be appreciated.

You need to consider a backup for either strategy, like keep a copy on you laptop or another storage device. I transfer my files off my cards to my computer every day during travel and then back them up again on a separate HD that stays in different luggage. Assuming you already have at least one high quality backup card, then I'd vote for the 120GB.

I use a wolverine backup device which works well. It holds 120GB, but takes quite a while to d/l a full 8GB CF card. It has no display ability.

http://www.storagedepot.co.uk/Digita...sc889/p15.aspx seems to have the info to answer your question. It does not appear to let you view the images. I would not let this be my only storage device on a trip though. A backup is essential.
