Past weekend I spent long hours trying to get these elusive Marsh Wrens. I did get few and here is one in with filter abuse... Here are the filters in different layers - Original, DAP - felt tip, Topaz simplify, Topaz Detail and Fract - Glow 100. Then used masks on each layer and painted with different brush types. Changed layer opacity for each layer to get the final effect. Hope you like it...

Really nice pose and perch Indranil. I like the effect of the filters. I might take a small fraction off the right side to clean up the edge if it were mine. Nicely done.:)

Congrats on getting such a great photo of a bird that stays hidden. Love the composition with the diagonal perch.

I also like the final effect you've gotten on this. Glad you could get this wren to sit still long enough to get the image. He really stands out nicely from the background. Your work has definately paid off well.

Indranil, I like the results and the comp. a lot. I think maybe I'd slightly clean up the wispy lines around the beak and throat but they're really not a big deal. I love the bg also:)

Very nice composition and pose, Indranil. Great effect with the slashes of color in the BG. Nice work.

Thanks all for the comments. Appreciate it a lot. I will fix some of the changes Denise and Cheryl has suggested. Also, just for the comparison, here is the original...

You chose your filters and pp very well as it has lifted this image enormously. I really like the OP, wonderful.

Hi Indranil, nice job on this one and I love the fract style. Good composition with the background elements and perch all radiating out from the LRC.
