First I converted the owl to B&W, protecting the eyes. Then I used the stamp filter to make the B&W more graphic, then overlayed with a color gradient with a reduced opacity. My goal was nature meets psychedelic, with a bit of a black-light feel a la the 60's :D.

Excellent creative work, Nancy. Love the composition, psychedelic colors and your approach. I think the touch of black it over the top. TFS.

Nancy, It is a great effect you came up with. You should print and matt some of them and bring them to the center where they have the owl. I think they would appeal to a lot of people and you could earn some $$ and also help to finance their program.:)

Oh, that is so cool and so 60's. I would have loved to have had this hanging on my wall under the black lights. Yes, I'm vintage. Yes, I remember black lights. Yes, I had one. :p

Great look Nancy, I'm back in my old dorm room again... I was going to say "great poster look", which it is, but the eyes make it even better than that. Thanks for sharing this workflow. I really like the results.
