Jeff, nice image . . . is that a tiny water drop at the end and down from its bill -- or what?
I like the pose & water droplet. Tack sharp. Very nice.
Love the low angle and pose with the complementary colours in plumage and BG. Light angle provides some nice roundness to the bird.
Nice pleasing intimate view on this low angle image. The light angle isn't optimal and this has caused a negative (IMO) shadow in the neck area. I also see some hot areas (or very close to) in the whites...perhaps recoverable in RAW conversion. Another option would be a bit less exposure, combined with some fill-flash to tame those and also reduce the shadows.
P.S. I love the falling drops, but I think the very tip of the upper mandible could be cleaned of the mud streak.
