Titled after one of my all time favorite movies...;)
I took the base photo for this image on Saturday morning. I did some clean up on the plant with the clone tool, then added a duplicate layer with a 3% gaussian blur over the top with a multiply blend mode. I lightened and brightened it overall and then added a grass texture over the top with another blend mode change (soft light this time if I remember correctly.)

"If you post it they will come." ;) Very nice work Jules. I really like the colors and textures, they fit the base image quite nicely. Love the composition too.

Thanks Denise and Kerry...seems like forever since I've been able to get down here. I've been in a rather 'stuck' place photographically so it's nice to finally feel the creative juices flowing again. Can't wait to take a look around and see what cool stuff you all have been up to!

Beautiful work, Jules. Graceful initial image. I especially like the lighter circle in upper right third behind the flower stem--it gives a Japanese feeling and adds interest.

Nice to see you posting here again, Jules! :) Lovely colors and comp. The textures are great. Looks a little tight maybe on the top.

Jules, it looks like you're "unstuck":) I love the soft curve of the stem and the texture really adds to the image. I agree with Anita that it has an oriental feel to it.

I love the soft tonal range and the composition which is delicate and beautiful. My only tiny little question is whether you could have removed the little branchlet at the back which is oof … I find it distracting but not enough to not like the image. I look forward to seeing more.

Hillary, I see the same thing and probably will go back and remove it (or clone in another one from a different image.) It's the only part of the image that keeps bugging me!
