Red-tailed Hawk

I generally post on ETL, and just trying this forum ..........Took this last year.....................some BG softening and foreground grass removal.

The lighing in this image is very interesting. I think, the light and dark bg is cool, but at the same time distracting. I like the perch and pose, but I think the bird needs a bit more USM. The visible talons and red tail add interest.

I like the moody light and the rock with leaves is great. The pose is also wonderful.

It is the lighting that makes this one. What were the conditions, time of day, etc on this one. My first impression was that the colors were oversaturated, but that depends on the time of day. I do see Jim's point about the distraction effect of the bright blue below and darker around the head. Do you have other frames from this series?
