I photographed this Shearwater off the Panga in the Galapagos early in the morning. I added the find edges filter in photoshop. I also darkened up the blacks.
ps- I removed the partial reflection.

Nice image and application, Denise.
I like the effect of the bird and the water, but wonder about the BG. It's too bad there isn't a little more BG detail above the wing. It kind of drops off fast to nothing. I might have cropped the top somewhat, if it were mine. But ...
Nice silhouette, Denise. The composition and the bird's wake create an excellent sense of motion. I might crop some off the top to accent the sense of motion even more.
Like this a lot Denise. The wake is nice and sharp and I love the high contrast. I like the space on top - gives a sense of scale to the scene for me.
This has worked very well. Would make a really good etching.
I like it as presented. I black matt, with a thin white border would make this a nice print.
Dramatic. A nice reminder of that magical still morning with fog and whales. What does the Find Edge Filter do?
Love the splashes.
Thank you all for your comments. I appreciate them.
Artie, The find edges does exactly that-it finds the edges and creates an almost sketch look.
Thanks. I did not know that Photoshop could do that.
Filter>Stylize>Find edges
Then you can use the blend modes or use the opacity on the layer to change the look or even use a mask. Sometimes it's best to convert to B&W first as I have here.
Nice capture and effect..someday I'll get there
