This image of my mother was taken, at Kennedy Space Center, on her visit this spring shortly before her 90th birthday. She wanted to see an astronaut, so we obliged. I have removed about 20 years, for her pride so she would not oppose my showing her image. She normally is very camera shy, but knows I take candid’s on the fly.
Modifications in CS4 included Topaz Simplify, Topaz Detail and Canvas Texture and also run thru DAP Portrait, along with normal CS4 adjustments.
Enjoy!

Nice job on this portrait Mark. I like the painterly look and the frame really compliments the image. Good for her, getting to meet an astronaut!

Very nice portrait, Mark. It has a nice painterly look to it while still retaining plenty of detail in her face. I might lighten the dark area on the right just a tad or possibly soften the edges of it.

Thanks for viewing and comments, Christopher.
The dark area is the next dining area of the restaurant, with table and chair, etc. clutter. While it was dark, I darkened it to eliminate the clutter that was visible. Showing it would be distracting. So I darkened to elimate those elements.
