It's been awhile since I had time to sit and be creative! I went back and found an old gerbera image that I had converted to black and white and then done nothing with it. Tonight I added a soft green duotone finish and that was nice but it felt like it needed a little more "kick" so I pulled out one of the images I've taken this year that I call "color blurs". [Basically, I fill the frame with a brightly colored object, trying to get 2-3 colors or shades in the image with no recognizable shapes - I'm trying to capture the colorful "essence" of the item.] The one I used tonight was "daffodil greens" from earlier this spring. I popped it over the top of the duotone photo and changed the blend mode to color burn and played with the opacity until I had it where I wanted it.

Jules, Beautiful comp. and the color toning is lovely. Welcome back you have been missed. I like the way the flower stems cross!

Like it for all the same reasons as Denise, Julie. The only thing I might do is add a bit more canvas on the bottom as it feels a little tight. But I bet you probably already tried that:)

Thank you everyone. I have really wanted to get into doing more black and white and duo/tri/quadtones lately - this is my first attempt at them in quite awhile. I'm so glad you liked it.

I was wondering where you were Julie! I like the duotone as well, the composition, and the way the curved stems are aligned. Good work. regards~Bill

William, life just got in the way for awhile! Between all the summer stuff (mowing, yard care, outings) and all the moderating in three forums, I just didn't have the time to be "creative" for awhile. Now that the heat has slowed everything down a bit, I finally have a little time to get back and play with some of my spring images. I missed you all as well!
