This original image was taken, on the Big Island of Hawaii, of a bee sitting in a yellow flower. I have modified it slightly :D for this posting. I don't remember all the steps, in CS4, but they included; Poster Edge, Accent Edge and Ink Outline, along with, Shadow & Highlight, Hue & Saturation, Vibrance and Saturation, Brightness & Contrast adjustments.
Enjoy!

Mark, I might take a large slice off the top to bring the eye down. I think that the bee gets lost in the processing. The colors are nice so are the details of the plant leaf.

The colors, textures, and patterns overpower not only the bee but the entire image. I do like the rule of thirds COMP.

Bautiful "psychedelic" colors here, but I'm afraid the bee gets lost. I agree that it's fairly unbalanced as is and needs some off the top, or a tighter crop altogether. Very vibrant and interesting!

I like the vivid colours Mark, however the image is busy, perhaps toning down the BG would put more emphasis on the flower and the bee.

Hi Mark, I like the colors and feel that they would be best if concentrated on the flower/leaves with the bee on it. Could maybe select that area and de-saturate the bg a bit to draw the eye to the bee. Agree with suggestions about cropping from the top, at least enough to eliminate that cyan feature right at the top edge.
