This is my first posting for this week's theme... this was taken earlier today at Golden Gate Park Arboretum. I used in camera technique to create this image. Settings were -
I like it very much, the lighting has given it good depth and the lines on the left hand side are shown well. It would have been nice to have seen just a little detail in the background petal (is that what they are called on this flower?) and maybe the closest part of the flower just a little more in focus would have been good. Did you go to 1/2500 for a reason as against increasing DOF?
Very nice image.

Very nice image and application, Indranil.
Like the contrast of light. I might have added a little canvas on the LB & RB, also darken the left half of the back petal very slightly.
But ... your image ... your vision. ;)

Indranil, I love the shapes in this - very sinuous and I also love the two-tone look. (Well, three-tone I suppose...:D)

Indranil, I think the lighting effect from your in-camera technique looks very nice. I do wish the front of the Lily were more in focus like the rest. The black BG really makes this pop. A little tight on the sides. Nicely done:)

Thanks all for the all the suggestions and feedback. Appreciate it a lot. I did try composing with f22 but the light did not turn out as dramatic. I will try and post one with the front petals in focus using another of the shots I had taken. It will have to wait for a while... i am on a two week road trip to Southern California, Arizona and Nevada.. hopefully come back with few new photos to share:D
