Canon 7D Canon 500mm f4 L IS & Canon 1.4TC Tripod, ISO 500 1/100 sec f5.6 ( I did vary ISO settings up to 1600 but I got away with this one!)
I went to a local nature reserve hoping to get some shots of dippers but I soon became preoccupied by several robins collecting mayflies for their chicks. The robins would swoop down from overhead branches and collect mayflies mid air or even on the water's surface.
All comments welcome.

Jonathan:
I like the bird, food item, fairly muted background and rock with moss.
The challenge for me are the grasses just in front of the bird.
The shutter speed is fairly slow for most bird activity, but it looks like the robin slowed down enough for you. I do think the face and prey could be sharpened a bit more.
Cheers

The insect is a great bonus and I love the eye contact and pose. the grasses are a bit distracting but still a lovely composition with beautiful lighting. thanks for sharing.

I like the wide crop, head angle and the food item adds interest. Overall, it looks pretty good considering the little light you had available.
