I made a tight crop as I wanted the focus to be the plumage details. Does it work? or is it too tight? All C&C welcome.

Hello Kausthubh,
Expo spot on, a little more canvas on the left would be magic.

I like the foraging pose, the soft light, the background colors, and the little water droplets on the head. I'm OK with the crop - if it were mine, I might be tempted to crop even a bit more off the right. I wonder if the feathers on the side of the bird are a little oversharpened?

Great angle, sharpness, light and eye contact. I think it is an interesting crop, first I thought a vertical might work, too, but I'm not so sure about that.

It's those 2 little drops of water on the bridge of his nose that kills me! What a beautiful portrait. I also agree a slice more on the left would be magical.

I don't mind the crop, although I have to say I'm a sucker for the 3:2 aspect ratio. I LOVE the pastel colors in the background!

Thx everyone. I agree that the crop is a little different. I had tried different versions and thought this worked best. With the bird looking down, it was more tricky than usual. But I'll revisit the orig and try again.

Very nice portrait. I like the idea of a bit tighter on the right (as viewed).
