These are Purple African Daisies taken at San Diego Zoo (one of my favourite places for flower photography). I wanted to give it a painted look... used multiple layers with masks for DAP, Topaz Simply, Gaussian blur and adjustment layers each with different opacities. The masks were used to graduate from focus to OOF. Then applied canvas texture that I had created and used smart sharpen to get the final look. Hope you like it... your c&c will be appreciated.

Indranil, I really like the effect you created. Very nicely done. The sharper flowers make the composition interesting. The colors are lovely. Some may want the negative space in the image filled with flowers but I feel that those spaces are important to the comp. Well done.:)

Indranil,
Greetings. I like the painterly look, particularly setting off the subject with detail (probably the mask work). I find the light yellow pattern on the bottom left in-focus flower to be a little distracting.
Nice work!
Cheers,

Hi Indranil, Lovely colors and painted look. I like the effect you created with the detailed main flowers and the OOF ones in the BG. I think I'd prefer it if the OOF flowers in the FG weren't there and the in-focus flowers were lower in the frame.

I like how the centers pop amids the softness of the rest of the image. I agree that cutting some off the bottom would help focus on the main flowers. Lovely colors!! Nice PP.
