Harbor painting

I took this in St. Augustine last week at the Birding and Photography Festival. I used Topaz Adjust>Venice, then DAP>Benson at 60% opacity, then lightened it up a bit with a slight Nik Skylight filter, then added sandstone texture and a frame from www.free-photo-frames.com.

The curves of the harbor are very nice and the effect applied works just right. I am never a big frame fan.......but that is personal preference.

Cheryl, as soon as I saw the thumbnail I thought "Benson!". It's one of my favorite looks in DAP and this is a very nice use of it. Love the gentle curve of the shore and the delicate layers of color in the sky. I saw the shark too! ;)

Lovely scene Cheryl, and I like the effect you have created. As its a painting theme, the frame works for me.

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your kind words. I think Dave Phillips turned us all on to DAP and I followed a tip
he posted on one of his images - it turned out better than my other DAP efforts.:)

Cheryl, you are right about Dave. He was not the first to post a DAP image, but he was passionate about it and his enthusiasm encouraged us to learn how to use it. I miss him a lot...

Benson is one of my favorite DAP filters as well and this was a perfect scene for it. I love all the gold colors in the painting and I think the gold frame looks great with it.

beautiful work. I love the topaz Venice setting myself. Also not a fan of the frame, but it's no big deal.
