Joel, Nice effect. It looks like you used the liquid tool also. I like the pose and the hawk looks good. I might tone down the couple of bright white areas.
I especially love that fire in the BKGR. Yes to Denise's suggestion to tone down the whites and also to possibly thin the white outline around the bird.
Joel, the fire in the background is so cool. I love the fierce look in the eye. Agree about the white, I might tone down the legs. Very well done.
