With the Hooptie Deux in the shop for a day or two, James Shadle's childhood friend Brian took a group of us out to Alafia Banks on a killer 30 foot fishing boat. This image was created with the 800mm f/5.6L IS lens, a 1.4X II TC, and the EOS-1D Mark IV. ISO 400" 1/1600 at f/8 set manually was actually about one stop too dark.

Artie, now that's a great rear:) I love the intense colors. And many, many thanks for your 7D tutorial - I downloaded it today and changed my settings and went out late afternoon to see if I've improved the quality of
my images. I definitely like the visual part on my LCD. Thanks again:)

Very interesting view of a spoonbill, Artie. I like it a lot. :) Nice intense colors. Looks to me like the BG could use a pass of noise reduction.

Artie, I love the feathers and the colors. Great backward glance. I agree some NR in background. The lighting looks perfect on the bird's backside.

Thanks all for commenting. For images w/o much sales potential it does not make sense for me to take the time to select the BKGR and run NR :)
