I thought I would revisit some of my Oyster Creek files and Topaz Simplify to achieve a sketchlike feel. This actually started out as an infrared image that was OK but nothing special (note lack of clouds :() I used the edges tab in simplify to get close to where I wanted to be. After applying that filter I used selective color (neutrals) to increase blacks to get the marsh to stand out a bit more. I always appreciate comments and suggestions, thanks for looking.

Dave, I love the sketched look and think that the scene is lovely. Some may want to see a bit off the bottom to get the edge of the marsh coming out of the corner, but I think it's fine either way. Nicely done and thanks for sharing your workflow.:)

Dave, I like this as presented. I love the sketch effect and the black and white really allows the viewer to appreciate the details.
Best,
Nicki

Love the sketched look and the basic COMP. I'd go for a PANO with some off the top and some off the bottom as suggested by Denise.

Thanks for your thoughts Artie, I'm going to play with some narrower crops as suggested above to see what kind of feel I can get. Thanks for your time and thoughts.

Your clever PP work yeilded great results, Dave. Love the look. Interested to see how denise's suggestions pan out. (No pun intended!):)

Thanks Kora, Here's one of the alternatives that I felt good about. It gets the marsh coming out of the lower right corner as Denise suggested, removes some dead space at the top, and keeps the horizon line in a fairly good spot. Does this present better?

Love the pano look. I think though that you overdid the bottom a bit. I would leave the white edge of foam or whatever it is at the base of the reeds. Still love the Topaz Simplify effect.

The pano look is great, Dave. The cropping has made a big difference. I can see what Artie means about the 'white foam' or whatever. Perhaps you could achieve the same impact by selecting that part from the original, copying and pasting via a layer over this one.:)

I can go back and adjust the crop down just a bit as soon as I get a few spare minutes. I tend to agree that the bottom could come down just a touch. Thanks for the guidance.
