I know blurs seem to look better with brighter colours but everything up here is still muddy brown.
Started the blur before I pressed the shutter. It is a challenge for me to do a slow blur as I usually go at the speed of light.

Here is the same shot with the speed of light blur.:) Could be interesting in certain situations I guess.

Yes, more colors would have helped. What was the subject?

Tree bark with a knot in it.

Jackie, I like the first one and I knew right away it was a tree bark and knot. I like the diagonal blur and the lack of color is fine for me since I love natural earth tones.:)

Thanks D, I intentionally wanted people to try and guess to see if I had left enough definition in. I am a fan of earth colours too, and bold, depends on what you are trying to convey. Thanks for the comment. Do you like the first one because it has more definition. (I am trying to learn, thanks)

Jackie, Yes. The added definition is important for an image like this that is relying on texture and not color IMO.:)

I prefer the first one too, Jackie. I like the definition, and the muted earthy tones are great:)

Very nice Jackie. I prefer the first one as well, although both are well done.
I had a nice chuckle at your speed of light comment.

Jackie, I prefer the first one for the reasons stated above. Also, I saw a face in it!
Best,

Jackie, I also prefer the first because of the definition and I really like the earthy tones.:)
