I have a Costa Rica photo tour participant who does not own a macro lens but would like to do close-up photography on the trip. Can anyone recommend a close-up filter for Nikon glass? She has an 18-105 and an 80-400. Thanks for the help!

Hi Doug,
What about the Canon 500D closeup lens? A 77mm size is available and costs approximately $150.
500D is about the only good option unless you can find a used Nikon 6T
Another vote for the 500D.
Thanks guys. I just had her order a 500D. She has only 2 lenses, as I mentioned above. Which lens would you use it with for close-up photography and why?
I'd use it on the 80-400. If I recall correctly it was designed for lenses in the 70-300 range. It should be very usefull on this lens.
Definitely the 500D. I've used it on everything from a 10-20 to a 400 5.6. Great piece of glass.
In this case EOS stands for "end of story".
