The original image was shot yesterday with a macro lens at f/2.8 and my new camera:)
I was going for a soft focus. I added a hint of fractalius and accented edges. I also added an orton action and reduced the opacity of that by 50%.

I love the colors, Denise!
Everything works for me-composition, focus, and the application of your effects (I prefer the subtle use of Fractalius).:)
Hey Denise,
It's images like this that make me want to try that soft focus thing!!! Love the pastel colors but would consider eliminating/blending the whitish circles on the RH side....in the peach?.....although thinking about it....it does add some depth there. Would be interesting for comparison...........now I have to go out and find some poppies!
Nice image and application, Denise.
Interesting abstract...
This has a nice all around feel to it...nicely done
Denise, This came out really nice. I like the soft focus look and the colors. Nice treatment. Congrats on the new camera.
Gorgeous colors, denise. Love the light frac accentuating selective edges. I just wish for a few more accentuated edges left foreground. If it were mine (how I wish!) I'd select a couple of the fracted ones and layer copies over a few of them. Tastefully of course:D Kora
Thank you all for your comments. Much appreciated.
Kora, Sounds like a good idea-thanks.:)
Love the gorgeous colors in this, Denise. Nice soft focus and composition. Very well done.
roman, you need to stay away from f/32!!!!:D
denise, this is just lovely as presented for me. i see kora's point, but think that if you did that it would draw your eye away from the focal point. well thought out plan and nicely done!
I love the colors and selective focus here, Denise. Soft focus draws me every time! I agree with Julie in that subtle use of Frac is usually a good thing.....
:)
Christopher, Harold and Barbara -Thank you all very much for the kind thoughts.
Barbara, I'm a sucker for soft focus too:)
How did I miss this one? Must have been in a hurry that day. This is beautiful Denise! I love the colors and the way the eges are just a bit sharp and detailed. It would look smashing blown up large!
lovely!!! gorgeous colors and comp. the only downside is that the bright peach color draws my eye away frm the less bright center. :)
Thank you ladies.:)Much appreciated.
